Steal From The Rich! Crates — Tiers, Named Crates & Guardians

Every kind of crate in Steal From The Rich!: the tier system, the named crates (Demon, Space, Archeologist) and the monsters guarding the best loot.

How do crates work in Steal From The Rich!?

Crates are the game’s loot containers — everything you earn starts with stealing one. Each crate you carry home converts into money and treasures. Crates come in visually distinct types: official art shows a lineup of crates with different colors and emblems, from plain red-and-gold boxes up to a rainbow shell with a demon crest, and the flashier the crate, the richer the payout.

What crate tiers exist?

The game tiers crates by look and value — plain crates early, ornate ones later. From official art you can see at least four distinct shells: a red crate with a gold shield crest, a purple crate with a snowflake-style emblem, a blue crate with a red mask crest, and a dark purple crate with a wheel emblem — with the rainbow Demon Crate above them. The developer has not published an official tier table with exact payouts, so treat any exact per-tier numbers you see elsewhere as unverified; in-game, the crate’s appearance and its money-per-second label are the honest tell.

What are the named crates?

Official art confirms at least three named crates: Demon, Space and Archeologist.

  • Demon Crate — the rainbow crate with the demon-face crest. In official art a player walks up to one with the “(E) STEAL” prompt on screen, which makes it the clearest example of a high-value steal target.
  • Space Crate — an astronaut-themed crate shown with an income label of 97,6754Sp/s in official art, carried inside a protective bubble.
  • Archeologist Crate — a wooden, pirate-style crate shown at $94,6794Sp/s, found in the desert dig-site area alongside a green T-rex.

What does the Sp/s on crates mean?

It is the crate’s money-per-second value in the game’s big-number notation. “Sp” is the abbreviation the game’s UI uses for its largest shown money suffix, so a crate labeled 94,6794Sp/s pays that rate while it pays out for you. The developer has not published an official value list, so our crate value list explains how to read the labels and compare crates yourself instead of trusting made-up tables.

What guards the best crates?

The richer the area, the bigger the guardian. Official art shows a burning lava monster looming over a lineup of top-tier crates, a T-rex prowling the Archeologist Crate’s dig site, and suited guards chasing a player who has just taken a safe from a vault. Stealing near guardians is a risk-versus-speed decision: grab the crate, then rely on your Speed to get clear.

How do you pick the right crate to steal?

Compare two things: the income label and the trip home. A crate pays based on its rate, but a steal only profits if you survive the carry. Early on, the closest tier you can escape with beats a distant top-tier crate you will lose. As your Speed grows — see the Speed training guide — push deeper into richer areas where the named crates sit, and follow the area progression guide to unlock them in order.

Do crates change with updates?

Yes — updates add regions and crate types. The September 29, 2026 update brought the Angelic Area, and the pattern of previous areas (desert dig site, space-themed crates) suggests each region arrives with its own crates and guardian. When a new region lands, check the updates page and re-check crate labels in game before trusting any third-party value table.
